Actually, it’s because Genie perceives time backwards, like Merlin (who also knew about the future despite being in the, well, Arthurian age.) Also, “10,000 years” could always have been an exaggeration.
However, the real reason Aladdin can’t be in the future is because Jafar is already dead during Hercules’s series in the Aladdin/Hercules crossover episode. Therefore, Aladdin takes place at the same time of Ancient Greece, and actually takes place BEFORE Hercules, since Jafar is already dead when Herc is still a teen.
